Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her performance in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She has won several awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. At a young age she began acting on stage in various Broadway or Off Broadway productions. The art of acting has been a constant obsession. In the fifth grade she played Helen Keller in an original show. Her mumps left her blind and deaf in one ear. But she refused to let that to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actor. When she was a teenager, she was a drama student in college before moving into New York City from Pittsburgh to achieve her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut following an unplanned conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. She relocated from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get film parts. For Swing Shift, she landed an appearance as a supporting character. Her work spans over thirty years and she's appeared in a variety of TV films or series, as well as films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and won Women in Film Lucy Award.
